Desi calculator

Desi is a parcel's volumetric weight: length × width × height (cm) ÷ 3000. Carriers charge on whichever is greater, the desi or the parcel's actual weight. Enter the dimensions to see both values and the one you will be charged on.

How is desi calculated?

  • Desi = Length (cm) × Width (cm) × Height (cm) ÷ 3000
  • Chargeable value = the greater of desi and actual weight (kg)
  • Example: 30 × 20 × 15 cm = 9,000 cm³ ÷ 3000 = 3 desi

To lower your desi

Measure correctly

Measure the outermost points of the packed box, not the product. A bulging or taped-out box is measured larger at the branch.

A box that fits

A box that leaves a lot of empty space around the product inflates desi for nothing. Keeping a few box sizes close to your best sellers' dimensions lowers shipping costs for good.

Fold and compress

For textiles and soft goods, folding, vacuum bags or mailers reduce volume. For light but bulky products it is usually desi that sets the price.
